About

We represent the interests of research assistants and have been working for a better TU in the committees of the academic self-administration for decades. We discuss this with each other—and also with you: What does “better” mean and how can and should TU be improved? We are convinced: As employees, we can and want to be co-creators! That’s why we listen, raise our voices and participate, help shape the TU and celebrate (university policy making) successes.

Mittelbau (non-professoral academic staff) is an important part of TU Berlin and therefore deserves a say. So far, the TU falls short of its possibilities to address the interests of the Mittelbau. We stand for participation and discussion instead of neo-feudal dependency relationships as they (still) characterize the employment and qualification conditions at some departments.

We must not pay lip service to the freedom of research and teaching. A democratic university must permanently foster participation and shape forward-looking working conditions for research and teaching in its institutions. In this sense we fight for a progressive TU.

We count ourselves among the Reformfraktion (“reform faction”), which includes representatives of all four status groups in the university committees, and we stand for a constructive and transparent dialogue internally and externally.
